Nokia’s first Windows Phone Mango powered smartphones –Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, which were unveiled last month during Nokia World 2011 in London have been officially announced for the Indian markets.
Both the devices sport a 3.7-inch display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Powered by a fast 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Scorpion processor with 512MB RAM, Lumia 800 and 710 run on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) operating system.
While the higher-end device Lumia 800 features a 8-megapixel auto-focus camerawith dual-LED flash and 16GB internal memory, the Lumia 710 comes with a slightly lower 5-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory.
Nokia has introduced some unique features in the phones as well. The first of them isNokia Maps & Drive which is a free turn-by-turn voice guided navigation system, complete with 3D maps for 750 cities in India, and 50 voice languages, including Hindi.
Another new feature is Nokia MixRadio, a free online radio service with both local and global channels. The third one is Nokia Contacts Transfer, a service that will allow users to transfer contacts across many platforms and devices.
Though the prices of these phones have not yet been announced, both the devices will hit retail stores across the country in mid-December.
