Though Apple iPhone 4S had launched in the US and some other countries way back on October 14th and speculations were rife that the phone could be launched in India in November, no confirmation date was made official by the company. However iPhone 4S is now all set to hit the Indian markets on November 25, although there is no word on the pricing as yet.
Earlier on Friday, Aircel had announced on its fan page on Facebook that it is bringing iPhone 4S to India and the launch details would be made public soon. The company stayed true to its words and announced yesterday evening on its Facebook page that iPhone 4S will be launched in India on November 25.
For those of you who aren’t aware of the features of the phone, let’s take a quick look at its specs. iPhone 4S boasts a 3.5-inch retina display with 960 X 640 resolution and runs on Apple iOS 5. It is powered by a Dual-core Apple A5 processor and features an impressive 8-megapixel rear auto-focus camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording..
The other features include a front VGA camera for video calling, Digital Compass, Assisted GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. Built-in apps for Apple TV, Weather, Newsstand and Stocks are also provided in the phone.
It is expected that the phone could be launched at comparatively expensive rates in India and the 16GBunlocked version could cost anywhere between Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 40,000. However as it happened last time with the earlier version of the iPhone, both Airtel and Aircel will most probably sell the handset on reverse subsidy through discounted call and data plans.
