These days there are a wide range of Android phones in the market that come studded with some great features and are available at affordable prices as well. Now that we have already covered the best Android mobiles below 10k, let’s take a look at some of the best Android phones in the Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 range.

1. Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830


Undoubtedly the most popular Android mobile in this segment that comes loaded with some impressive features. Powered by a 800 MHz ARM11 processor, Galaxy Ace runs on Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS and sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen. It also features a 5 MP camera with LED Flash with 2x digital zoom, A-GPS navigation and social networking apps. Costs Rs. 13,500 approx.

2. Motorola Defy


Another dashing Android smartphone that runs on Android V2.2 (Froyo) OS and boasts a spectacular 3.7-inch touchscreen display. The best part about this smartphone is that it is quite sturdy thanks to dust, water and scratch resistant features. Apart from the 1.25GB internal memory and a pre-installed 2GB microSD card, external microSD card can be used to increase the memory to 32GB. The camera is quite decent as well – a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and LED Flash. It is priced at the upper end of the range, roughly at Rs. 15,000.

3. HTC Wildfire S


Though it has been around for a while, it is still pretty much there in the bestseller list. Wildfire S is a full touch mobile that runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and sports a 3.2-inch TFT screen. The only downside to it is that has a slower processor (600MHz) as compared to the other two mobiles discussed above, which have 1000MHz and 800MHz processor respectively. The other features are almost the same – 5-megapixel camera with auto focus & LED flash, A-GPS, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Priced at Rs. 13,500approximately.

4. Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini ST15i


Xperia Mini ST15i is a sensational looking smartphone with a trendy design. Boasting a 3-inch touchscreen display, Xperia Mini ST15i runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and is powered by a powerful 1GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor with 512MB RAM. Though the in-built memory is around 320MB, you can expand the memory up to 32GB via microSD card. The features include a 5 megapixel camera with touch focus, LED flash & 720p HD video recording, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Facebook integration. Available at a decent price of Rs. 13,000.

5. Motorola FIRE XT


Though it is not all that popular and most of you won’t be knowing too much about it either, Motorola Fire XT is a nice overall package that features a rather large 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It is powered by a decent 800MHz processor with 512MB RAM. The smartphone features a 5-megapixel primary camera with auto focus, LED fash & digital zoom and a 0.3-megapixel secondary camera for video calling. The other features are pretty much the same as most of the other handsets discussed above. Costs Rs. 12,600 approx.
