Much to the disappointment of LG Optimus 2X users, their phones will not be getting the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update. In reply to a question posted by a user on LG’s official Facebook page “IS the lg optimus 2x eligible for a android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich software upgrade?, “Life’s Good” remarked that Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update will not be introduced on LG Optimus 2X P990.
Going by this statement, it is quite evident that Optimus 2X will not be getting the update now or any time in the future, which is indeed a big blow to all LG Optimus 2X users. Given that the phone has good hardware capabilities – a dual-core processor and 512MB RAM, there’s absolutely no reason why it shouldn’t support the update.
Though this news might be disappointing, it is hardly surprising, especially considering the fact that even Android 2.3 Gingerbread update hasn’t yet been rolled out for Optimus 2X!
